History

Ahmedabad Customs Zone started functioning with effect from 28th March, 2000 having jurisdiction over State of Gujarat, Union territories of Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. It has a coast-line of about more than 1214 kms, which is 16% of total coast-line of India i.e. 7516 Kms.

Ahmedabad Customs Zone exercises administrative control and supervision over four executive Commissionerates viz. Ahmedabad / Jamnagar (Preventive) / Kandla / Mundra and one Commissioner (Appeals) Ahmedabad.

Ahmedabad Customs Zone is one of the fastest growing Customs Zone in the country in terms of revenue collection which is contributing about 15% of National Customs Revenue. It is also one of the biggest in terms of handling of containerized import and export cargo.
